In this tutorial I demonstrate how to use foundation paper piecing to make this mountain scene.

There are many variations in paper piecing techniques, I don't claim that mine is the best, but it works for me!

Top tips:
1. use batiks and solid colours if you want an easy life - there is no "right" side so less chance of errors
2. when ripping the paper off after piecing, work from the highest number piece to the lowest

This mountain scene is part of a bundle of four available in my Etsy and Payhip shops.

In this video I explain how to sew foundation paper pieced patterns that contain more than one section.

If you watch this tutorial and my first one you'll have everything you need to start foundation paper piecing. The rules are the same from the simpliest patterns to the most complicated!

There is a free cloud pattern to accompany this video, which you can find in my Payhip shop:

One of the most common questions I am asked about my paper piecing patterns is how I frame them using embroidery hoops. To save me writing long replies to everyone, I've made this tutorial!

If you do use this technique to frame your paper pieced projects tag me on Instagram and let me know how it went! Find me at @etive_and_co

The two patterns featured in this video can be found in my Etsy and Payhip shops.
