THE STORY OF ETIVE & CO

About 8 years ago I decided to make myself a quilt. Even though it took me months, I loved the process and over the years I've been honing my skills by making quilts for friends and family.

I decided to turn my hobby into a business in 2016 and as well as quilts I have been really enjoying branching out into quilting all kinds of other little things. You'll find quilted eye masks, make-up bags, and knitting needle cases in my collection!

In 2017 I began designing foundation paper piecing patterns and this has now become a passion of mine. I'm always on the look out for unique and surprising paper piecing subjects.

I sew in my studio overlooking the Pentland hills and finish off the loose threads in the evenings in front of the television and a cosy fire. If the weather is nice I might be in my garden hand-dying fabrics using traditional Shibori techniques. When I'm not being creative I'm often walking my cocker spaniel, Hobart, and border terrier, Etive, or out for a run in the hills.

I love doing commissions or personalised items so please get in touch if you like my style and think I can help.

Etive & Co is named for the beautiful and wild area of Scotland near to Glencoe. There is a Loch Etive, Glen Etive and Etive Mor (mountain), it's definitely worth a visit if you are in Scotland.

Thanks for visiting!
